Four of Ten

One night, I recalled ten dreams--a total of 1200 words. Maybe it was the isolation of the Covid pandemic, I don't know. But here are four of them.

Dream 3: WORN BOOKS, or, MY U.L.N.

I have no Bookshelf. No such Thing!
Books are Clothes; have always Been.
Wear our Stories on our Sleeves. One gain:
All of us (but Nudists) read for Fun.
Hangers store Worn Tales in my
Closet Long--a Barn so Big that I
bound Library Tag to the Rod, to tell
my Unique Library Number, so all
Readers can don my Threads by I.L.L.
Proud to be part of the System; nearly No
Bookwearers are. My friends have More
Wardrobery, but Tagless. I hope to Show
    I'm an Intellectual for sure!
    Alas, my craven Craving for
    Respectability proves: at Core
    I'm just one more Book-Whore.

NOTES

Books are clothes, clothes are books: dreams themselves--at least the ones I've put out on the web. Like Joseph's 'coat of many colors'.
Personal collection, crave respectability: Just read Jayne Castle's sf/romance novella After Dark; the heroine works in a tiny museum whose owner's an outsider hungry for academic respectability. She does help him get it.

ULN: probably mocking my waking-self for posting so much on the World Dream Bank, a website. With of course a URL.
Book-whore: I am insanely eclectic. Text, playscripts, poetry, artbooks, comics; kids', teens', adults'; science fiction; mystery, fantasy; fiction, non; travel, politics, science, myth & mysticism. My friends who consider themselves intellectuals look down on half my reading. Their loss!
Proud to be a resource but doubt myself: I'm just not a joiner and hate social media; cut off from the online dream community. So I feel peripheral & irrelevant, even if the stats say lots of you enjoy the dreams.
ACTION: I do want to be more active in the International Association for the Study of Dreams, but during Covid I doubt I can. After? Will this EVER end?

Dream 5a: THE POTATO GESTURE

Downtown with friends. The Teen in Green
snuck back to move our Limousine
illegally curbed where that Tower will Rise.
Where'd she park? For I need our Prize--
the Sexy Thing we hid from burglar's Eye.
Green asks "Why?" but all I can Reply
is wave a big tan Spud--starch Asteroid--
and bonk my Temple--hard--
and blurt "Because of THIS!" Did I
just declare myself Potatohead?
Don't understand. Yet they all do,
for they nod Relieved. But it's not True!
Dunno why I Lied--or even How
deceit can hide in Bonk--but Know
one True Thing--and we will Rue it--
The Potato made me Do it.

NOTES

Potatohead: are my dreams making fun of me, or...? I can't WAIT to see the email from Jungians on this one.
The potato made me lie: I'm honest. That's not a boast, it's a disability. Aspies make terrible liars and saying what we really think hurts us socially. Because you neurotypicals swim in a sea of social lying that leaves simple-minded me in awe, if not exactly envious.
Anyway... for me to lie and be believed, as in the dream, really does take a miracle. Like... a bossy magic potato?

Dream 5b: THE PRIVACY OF CROWDS

Friends on our Frisco journey buy
my self-opaque Spudarian Lie.
Green blurts "I Hid your Chariot two
blocks up--the Corner." So I plow
through the Cellphone Swarm. But Car
ain't where she said, on Curb a-snore.
Instead, teleported round Ahead
is Green herself, with best friend Red.
Lazily lean on brick Bank in tank
tops and magenta skirts scarf-thin. Tan
bellies, caramel Thighs. Dizzied, I adore.
They smile. We all know what more
I'll do next: kiss Thighs, tease up to Slits
til all come Whooping on the street.
Why not? Jammed-in's as good as Alone--
the Squeezers-By don't ogle down.
So naturally my Mom appears, alive again,
Tottering down that stone Snake-stair. All
my Censorious Family will stare, and fol-
Low, hissing geese. Her Scorn Platoon.
But wait! So dense the Business Horde
my Judges cannot see me lapping Clits.
Today I'm just another Tongue, er, Face,
in Anonymous Sea. Oh, take the Risk!

NOTES

City, crowds, lust: I read two Jayne Castle novellas today, and each had a scene set in a rather sleazy singles bar.
Public sex: posting my weirdest, most embarrassing dreams? Hmm, so is this about the online dreamworkers' community? Do I expect rejection from the IASD? It's full of sleep researchers who mostly reject ESP out of hand, and working therapists whose whole purpose is to help messed-up clients back toward normality, not to expose them to depraved and lustful potato dreams.
The Mom Parade! Curious. If Freud were right, Mom would show up, spot me, blow the whistle, guilt-trip. But my guilt-trippers can't even see me! As if a crowd of witnesses make sex safer.
That crowd: Is this about putting my dreams on the Net? So crowded now with lies and scams that mere sex-dreams look positively innocent.
That darn potato: now that I see it led me to an unexpected tryst, I wonder: the Spud of Intuition?

Dream 7: HANDLER & AUTISTIC

I just laid out supplies to paint my crazy Dream
when No-Nonsense Nurse leads that drifty Teen
Aspira in my room, and plunks her on my Bed.
Her job's to lure her Charge out of her Head.
Aspie's soul fog-floats away from her,
Noses my room & Strokes my centaurs' Fur.
Triple N explains "I want to get Laid--strictly for
work-reasons, of course! To show Aspie how
it works--when it Does." Why me? "You'll explain
Autistic to peer--yet you're not Withdrawn.
Fun on the job is good--she needs to see it's fun."
She adds "I doubt Aspira's ready to jump On,
but who knows?" Oh well! I am more Drawn
to odd-like-me Aspira--when she's Home.
Her helper & I doff Petals, lean in till Kiss of Skin.
But is it True--can Example ground my Kin?

NOTES

Aspira ("Aspie"), the autistic with the drifty aura: my autistic side. As opposed to the gender-bent, witchy and furry sides...
No-Nonsense Nurse: my painfully learned practical side (such as it is), who has to interact with neurotypicals (sigh).
Centaurs in my room?: Literal. A leopard-taur and a foxtaur--two of the Foam Furs, lifesize sexy dream-creatures I hand-sewed.
What's it all mean? I could get Jungian and say this dream shows the Thinking and Intuitive aspects of the Self integrating. But in light of the other dreams, I think this one says simply "Your dreams are full of flirting and sex because it's medicinal as well as fun--sex helps connect your body & soul, and you need that, you silly astral floater!" Of course, that's just poor, dumb, autistic me. Can't possibly apply to you.
