Kneading Dough
Dreamed 2009 by Madellyne Waugh
I'm in the kitchen, and it's the middle of the night. I'm kneading a bowl of pasta dough on the bookcase when my mom comes in. I'm extremely ashamed.
"I'm sorry!" I say. I expect my mom to get frustrated with me and start yelling, but she doesn't.
"It's okay," she says quickly, as though surprised that I was so ashamed about it. And I wake up.
