SO TIRED OF MY BONES

Ink painted on with cardboard wedges, acrylic wash, 1999/9/13, by Chris Wayan

In my drawing class, the teacher was into bones. They're fascinating shapes, at first, till you think about what they are. And she piled them on, antlers and bones and skulls, death death death till I was tired of MY bones, and I was always told "you have good bones." Well no bone is a good bone, it's an octopus life for meee, squishy squashy free... .

I draw antlers bones and skulls till I'm sick of them.
(Well, not ALL bones... I still like Jeff Smith's "Bone." But that's another cup of ink. Or two. He uses a lotta ink. But it's worth it. Wow, those night scenes!)
