Critic
Dreamed June 1990 by Robert Brust
I had a very realistic dream that I was about to eat dinner with a certain noted art critic, and (while struggling to carry food from a buffet) we were having an interesting and important discussion about art (which, alas, I couldn't recall a word of after waking, I note that verbal content often evaporates in this manner).I'm acquainted with this man in reality, but rarely see him, and he's rarely had anything good to say about me. I was, at the time, exhibiting paintings in a major show in Pittsburgh, but had no reason to expect him to mention this.
Well, the morning after the dream (about 2 hours after it, actually), totally unexpectedly, said critic called and interviewed me by phone, resulting in a nice little article in connection with the show!
