Crystals and Gems

Dreams of crystals, gems, scrying-stones and crystal balls... not all magical, by any means, but compelling. Crystals first attracted us by their beauty, but it's interesting that prescientific magical traditions correctly anticipated their densely-packed structures had the power to store and transmit energy and information... like a physical analogy to poetry or song!
