Amphibians
Dreams of frogs, salamanders, toads, newts, efts, axolotls... well, okay, I lied. They're nearly all frogs. I didn't know till I ran the search. Only a few newts made the cut. It's not like no one dreams about them... but somehow, the interesting ones were mostly frogs. Go figure.
So what do amphibians mean in dreams? The stock answer is "metamorphosis," of course, but MY dreams at least seem to zero in on their peculiar shapes and wet, slippery skin and primitive brains (and eyes) and most of all, that delightful diet of flies. On the list of creatures I'd like to be, they're at the bottom. Or so I thought. Yet, in some of these dreams, I AM a frog, and quite comfortable with it. The dreaming mind disproves another conscious affectation! Mammals are such snobs...
