Over bits of stinging nettle
rain-hurled heaps of pebble, fern leaf mold
our mustard bodies
Olive horse-droppings
paths slippery
Lichen curls drift in the wind
|
Eucalyptus limbs quiver and squeak
redwood breath enfolds us In increments we stretch, shift
and emerge in unfolding time
Earth holds
we press on
blind to mountain bikes
