SILENT CRASH
Dreamed 1992/8/14 by Chris Wayan
I'm in my parents' house, reading the news. Out the back window, from the corner of my eye, I see an airliner fly STRAIGHT DOWN, 90 degrees, into a canyon and disappear. No way to pull out, too steep a dive, too low. I wait for the flash, explosion, fire...
Silence!
Did I see it wrong, hallucinate?
I hike toward the crash site. Noisier than usual in the canyon, but not from an air disaster. Bulldozers, 100 yards down, building a road! Looks like a shortcut between the housing tract where my parents live and the town down the canyon. But I ask one of the workers, and he says "Nah, it's just an addition to your housing tract--a dead end."
NOTES ON WAKING
DAYS LATER, AFTER PRICY MONITOR REPAIRS
Vera in our dream group tells me that around the same night as my dream, SHE dreamed she was ON a jetliner when it nosed down 90 degrees... and just before the crash, she woke up!
I'm not as shocked as I could be. You see, I've been picking up other dream images from Vera. This one's just more... apocalyptic.
