A dream of old Japan. My old friend and anima (or familiar), Silky, appeared as a mare, daring me to mount her...
And yes, "mounting my nightmare" is a tricky phrase full of dream-puns. My familiar was telling me that if I could achieve a new level of courage and integrity, I'd be welcome as more than a dreamer to guide--I'd be a worthy mate, fit to mount her. But not if I kept on being the perpetual compromiser I was raised to be.
