DREAM

I was with my childhood best friend, in a strange house I knew was her home. Yet I didn't recognize it. I memorized its address.

WHEN I WOKE

On impulse, I went to the address I dreamed. I'd never seen it in waking life, but it was the house in my dream!

I knocked; the woman who answered the door wasn't my best friend grown up, but a much older woman.

I told her my story and she said "You're describing my daughter as she was when she was a child, ten years ago."

She was my best friend's mom! With adult eyes, I hadn't recognized her.
