KRELKIN AND KIOSK
Dreamed 1994/5/1; ceramic figures sculpted 1999, 14" tall; wood stage 2007, 21x20x5"; by Chris Wayan
After hearing the song "Moral Kiosk" by REM, I had a REM episode about it: I dreamed I was a sort of singing mare-girl called the Krelkin, trying to lure the Reading Man out of his lonely Moral Kiosk (where he dutifully read Balzac's Moral Tales--what else?). On the walls of the Moral Kiosk were tacked all sorts of moral influences and commandments, from God to Mom to TV... A wall of rules!
Oh well, back to being human!
