Duck Hunt
Dreamed 1950/11/18 by Craig, age 4, reported by his parents to the Rhine Institute
In a New Jersey home on November 18, 1950, a little boy named Craig, four years old, woke up screaming. His father went to him and with difficulty succeeded in soothing and quieting him. Then the boy told his dream.
"I dreamed you were in the water, Daddy. There was tall grass all around, and you were in the water. I called and called to you and you kept trying to come out of the water to me."Of course, the parents promptly forgot the episode. The father and his brother had a duck-hunting trip planned, and two days after Craig's dream they set out. The two men sat in the duck blinds in the tall weeds for most of the day. Before they were ready to come home they shot two ducks that fell out in the water. They got into the boat to retrieve the ducks. Before long, a terrific wind came up and they were forced a long way out. The water was very rough and the boat capsized. The brother was drowned and Craig's father thought he would never make the shore. He said the thought of Craig's dream was before him constantly.
