       Mutt Throne.
A lovely bitch I long for. How her
       pelt shone!

I reread the peerage, ascertain
       you call
both fe- and male rulers King. For Queen
       can't be.
Not among canines. I knew that. What I pore
       this tome
to find is if you call the Bitch-King he
       or she.

NOTES AND GUESSES

• Dog king & queen: drag king & queen? What other queens are male and kings female?
• Gender/pronoun problems: I've been corresponding with the art agent of French dream-painter Marie Claude Girondé, in broken language--I botch genders of French adjectives & articles, she replies with mangled English pronouns. Is my dreaming mind really just snickering at our mutual linguistic gender-mayhem?
• "Sexy bitch": today I looked up "bestiality" on the web. No history or psychology or advocacy about this admittedly rare sexual orientation--but I thought there'd be something besides sex sites! Even those were weirdly limited: all women with male dogs and a few stallions--never men, bitches, mares, or any other creatures. As if porn makers can see only human females as sexy or beautiful. We furs just don't exist!
  Curious. A tiny hole, a cigarette burn, in the seemingly infinite polyester carpet of webporn--the most obsessively documented subject on the planet. Unsettling. Like finding a blind spot in your visual field. What else are we blind to?
• Why only king? Oh. "Fuck king"! Can't be queen; the pun won't work. And my dreams just gotta have those puns...
