These are mockups for an instrument I'm designing called the Helix or the Coil. It will be much easier to play than guitar or keyboard---totally chromatic, so for every major and minor key and chord, you only need to learn one fingering, not dozens.
The color-coding isn't just decorative; it helps you orient.
